Take a boat trip on Lake Nicaragua, passing by Las Isletas to La Calera, a private nature reserve located at the feet of Mombacho Volcano. You'll ride horseback on a guided tour through the tropical forest, passing by banana plantations before reaching one of the region's cacao farms. Here you'll learn about the different stages of production and processing of cocoa beans, the main ingredient for chocolate. After lunch with a view at the old hacienda house, there will be an opportunity to take a dip in one of the thermal water pools located in the tropical forest.
