Kayak Expedition - Rio San Juan

Embark on a true wilderness adventure and you join a kayak expedition along the majestic San Juan river, which flows from Lake Nicaragua, through wild jungles and into the Caribbean Sea. You'll be joined by an expert guide and a local logistics expert, who'll travel ahead to set up camps and prepare fresh local food for your group. Along this epic journey you'll pass by sunken ships, tiny villages and a huge variety of birds, reptiles and mammals living in the wild tropical jungle which lines the shores. Staying in a mix of simple river lodges and outdoor camping site, it's a chance to get in touch with nature and to feel a million miles away from civilisation. Although kayaking experience isn't compulsory, you will need a decent level of fitness, since the trip will involve full days on the water. The route and duration of the expedition can also be tailored to suit your needs and experience levels. For further details on what you can expect, please take a look at our Gold Rush itinerary.
